Banner Poles at Pawtuxet Park

In November of 2025, the PVA had new banner poles installed at the edge of Pawtuxet Park facing the bottom of Post Road.  The structure and stability of the poles had become a problem, so we hired a contractor to re-bed and straighten them.

Who can use the poles?

  • Community groups are welcome to display banners for events, programs, or messages that benefit the public and would take place in Pawtuxet or Edgewood.

  • This is not a location for events taking place in other areas of the cities, nor is it intended for publicity, sales, or promotion of a business.

  • Banner types:

    • Banners should be six feet wide and no more than 2 feet high in order to fit on the poles.  There are two sets of loops to support two banners at a time.

    • It is suggested that you have them made with the cutouts in the fabric to allow for wind.  This is the biggest issue with banners that won’t stay in place or become damaged, as it also damages the poles.

    Timing:

    • Banners should be hung no more than two weeks prior to the event advertised and securely installed in a way that doesn’t damage poles, block signs, or create safety concerns for pedestrians or drivers.

    • We also ask that banners be taken down promptly once the display period ends. Banners left unattended will be subject to removal and disposal.
